Pellet boilers are 21st century technology. Pellet boilers come in various sizes, shapes and colours to suit your needs. The boilers can be connected into existing heating system to replace an oil or gas boilers.
There are various method of getting pellets into the boiler from filling a storage box on top of boiler to having an to having a store in garden/garage.
The options for getting the pellets from your store to boiler e.g. suction, augers, conveyors etc.
The advances in boiler technology make pellet boilers as efficient as oil and gas models if not better. The pellet boilers have programmable time clocks for self-ignition making your home warm when you require. New technology is now available to control the boiler via IPhone apps.
Wood pellets when burned produce very little ash (0.2% - 0.5%). Most boilers have a dedicated ash cans which will automatically fill. The little ash that is produced can be used as garden fertiliser as it is high in potash.
As for heating performance, a wood pellet boiler in many cases is more efficient than a traditional boiler with efficiency’s up to 95%.
Fuels costs today are always a concern. Wood pellet prices in the UK have been reduced over the last ten years due to more manufacturing plants unlike oil and gas prices. Heating your house using wood pellets and claiming RHI could reduce your heating bill by 60%.
Some boiler setups will be eligable for the Enhanced Capital Allowance scheme.
